Sunday Morning Ease

I just fired up two incense sticks. One in my bedroom, and one here in the dining room where I am writing. Eventually, the swirling smoke from opposite ends of the house meet in the middle and every room is touched by the scent.

I'm vibing on Mary Oliver's words:

Let me keep my distance,

from those who think they

have the answers.

Let me keep company

with those who say "look!",

and laugh in astonishment,

and bow their heads.

My friend, Hillary Rain, introduced me to Agnes Obel and on this slow . . . easy morning, I am listening to her Aventine album. My favorite song is (not surprisingly) Chord Left. This entire album is gold, so soothing to listen to.

The girl and I have a desire to roam free today. She needs space, I want to shoot with a new camera I'm trying out.

But right now, there is this moment. And it fills me.

{a blessed Sunday to you}
