Life Re-Entry

November 29, 2016

I went back to work yesterday after being home for six weeks to help my darling recover from heart surgery. The good news is he is doing great post-op. He's feeling really good and looking fantastic, getting stronger everyday. It will be quite some time before he is back to his old self, but everyday is a step forward.

It is great to be out of the house for a few hours each day. When I assumed the role of caretaker, all tried and true methods of self care went out the window. I emerged from the last six weeks feeling tired, achey, and thirsty for art, connection, and much needed soul rejuvenation.

Where did I go to get my zen back? I called my hair girl. God Bless if you saw me before I had my hair done. What a mess. It was overgrown and unkempt with pure white and strands spiking up from both the hairline and the crown. I chopped off 4 inches, opted for a warmer base color, and got plenty of highlights put through. Ahh, with this new hair I finally had the guts to look people in the eye without feeling insecure about all those white hairs sticking up out of my head. I've decided to keep coloring my hair through my 40's and let the white come in at 50. That feels like a proper 50 year old rite of passage.

I also went to the water:

What I'll be doing in the coming days to feed my senses and water my creative soul:

+ Bake Christmas cookies!

+ Meditate . . . often!

+ Go to the Met and lunch in the city, possibly see the tree!

+ Writing . . . I have multiple article deadlines!

+ Visits with friends!

+ Decorating the house (I bought a tall, slim Christmas tree for the kitchen like Christina did!)

+ Date with Jen who always lights me up with inspiration.

+ Go to gym with Angie . . . not my favorite thing in the world, but it keeps those winter blues at bay.

. . . . . . . . . .

I do have a few oils that are discounted through Friday in my shop.

If you are on my email list, you have a coupon code to use in addition to the sale.

Want to get on that list? There is another email / coupon code coming out on Monday. Click here.

There is also a new oil blend coming out on Monday. This one is so good.

. . . . . . . . . .

Wishing you a fantastic week.

xx
