I am back home from Soulodge Medicine Gathering in Redmond, OR. It was, on so many levels, transformational. There are many photos that I am sifting through. Look for an in depth post later this week.
I did manage to spend a lot of time alone, just myself and my thoughts. It was a week of working through some feelings and fears. It was a was a time of focus and decision making. It was rest, rejuvenation, and it went a lot faster that I wanted it to.
I will get back to this subject, I promise . . .
In other news . . . A text exchange with a friend (who is back to blogging) got me thinking about my plans for summer. School is officially out and sweet child o'mine is on the hunt for a part time job. She has applied at a few grocery stores and one shop at the mall. She is also driving. She has her learner's permit so either Zak or I have to sit with her while she drives . . . and I have to say, she's doing great. We've had a few frightening moments as I'm sure happens to all new drivers, but overall, she is confident and attentive behind the wheel.
Our summer will be low-key. We will stay close to home so that Ang can work and continue to learn to drive. We will of course go to the beach, the city, and we have a special family trip planned for Acadia National Park in Maine.
I'm most looking forward to being home, working in my house and garden, and spending time with my family. I've been feeling unsettled for reasons I'm still trying to feel out. Home is what I need.
What are your plans for summer?
