Another summer has come to an end and the wheel has turned in the direction of the West. Autumn is here. I don't feel it in the weather we are currently experiencing, but I see it in the speckles of orange and red that dust the tree tops in the woods that surround my house. We are in the season of orderly Virgo on the cusp of Libra, a time of cleansing, overhauling, and prioritizing all the corners of our lives with great amounts of care. Last week's new moon gave off a vibe of all things feeling possible. I am so down for believing that.
There is much happening in the world right now. It feels overwhelming. It feels wrong to share the things that are happening here in my world. What is my contribution to all of the sadness, the misfortune, the unfairness? I don't know if it is much, but I pray . . . and I get up every morning and try to be a decent human . . . and I cook for the family . . . and I try to be an example to my girl who is growing up in a world that is so different than the one I grew up in . . . and more, but why write about it . . . and I hope that that all of my small actions count toward the collective actions of many who are resisting, dismantling, advocating, teaching, learning, working, hustling, grinding, failing, getting back up again, mothering, living, and human-ing.
In this season of waking up to new realities, I created oils for myself to temper and support my daily intentions. I love these oils. They are like my secret weapon for making it through some days. In the spirit of sharing the medicine, I added these new Intention Blends to my shop last month. They were not meant to be perfumes although they could easily be if that's what one intends them to be. These are oils to use specifically when you need that extra bit of strength to power on with the intention you hold. So far, the feedback and support has been really great. I'm just so happy to see these energetic bottles of goodness out in the world working their magic. (You can click the photo if you would like more info).
I will be doing a feature on my oils once a week to help introduce them to the world (I'm trying to stop neglecting my blog) and share the ways I like to use them.
Today is Sunday, the last in September. The sun is shining and it will hit 90 degrees F today. It's like Summer never left. Zak and I will go out on the boat to soak up some rays and get one last swim in for the season. It's supposed to turn chilly next week. I'm waiting for it. Yes.
